| London Helpline |
| Our London Helpline is often the first point of contact many people have with the organisation. Eighty-five percent (85%) of the calls are from carers or individuals affected by autism or Asperger syndrome, with the rest coming from medical, education and social welfare professionals. Some people call us for information about a wide range of issues, including diagnosis, education and respite care. Others just need a reassuring and understanding voice on the other end of the phone.
The Helpline is open Monday to Friday, 11.00am to 2.00pm with an answer-phone taking messages outside of these hours. Our aim is to return all calls within 24 hours. The Helpline number is 0845 603 7954. While we try to provide the information or advice needed we also hold details on a number of other support organisations so that if specialist information or assistance is required we can signpost people on as appropriate. We have a number of fact sheets that are sent out to supplement information given by our Support team. These are regularly updated and are on a range of issues such as diagnosis, holidays and education. They are available free of charge and allow people to read the information in their own time and to refer back to when needed. Click to view Factsheets available for downloading. |
